Curriculum Enrichment

  • Education at Rossmere Academy is enriched by real and imagined experiences that are threaded through every area of the curriculum.

    Visitors into school

Visitors such as Animal Story Animal Encounters help children to develop their vocabulary and their knowledge of the world outside Rossmere.

    Educational Visits

Throughout their time at Rossmere, children will go on educational visits every year. These include local visits within Hartlepool and those that are further afield.

Our mantra is ‘be adventurous – be ambitious’. Fundraising and use of Pupil Premium Funding means that every Rossmere child can travel to Hull to see sea creatures or to York to learn about Vikings or to South Yorkshire to see Polar Bears.

    Cultural Capital

Performing Arts are an important part of life at Rossmere – visiting regional theatres to watch musicals and plays, performing in concerts and performing on stage to parents and families. All of this adds to a child’s skill set, builds their confidence, widens their horizons and builds their Cultural Capital.

    Forest School and Outdoor Learning

We are very fortunate to have a large, very well equipped and self contained Forest School on site. This enables all children to explore nature and learn outside without leaving the school site.
