Our Rossmere Rules

We have 3 simple rules at Rossmere Academy –

Be Ready (ready to learn, at school on time, listening to instructions, correct equipment)

Be Respectful (speaking politely to everyone, being kind to others, taking care of the school environment and the community)

Be Safe (fantastic walking around school, playing with care for other children, being safe online)

Children who follow these rules are following ‘The Rossmere Way’.

At Rossmere we believe 'reward' should be intrinsic - this means that children work hard and behave well because they like the feeling this gives them, and they are choosing to do this.

We do give actual rewards for specific things, but don't believe in 'paying' children to work hard and show respect - we just expect it.

At Rossmere, our approach to getting children to follow the rules is to give them ownership and control over the decisions and choices they make.

By doing this we hope that all children will take responsibility for their own actions - rather than just doing the right thing because we tell them to.

This will help to turn Rossmere children into responsible members of society.
