Rossmere Academy has a strong reputation as a school with inclusion at its heart. We have a highly respected Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) that supports children from schools across the town who may display challenging behaviour, and we are now developing an SEN Hub model for children in Reception and Key Stage 1 who need specialist support to help them access mainstream classes.
We are looking for a very special person who has the resilience, positive mindset and enthusiasm for supporting children who find school and learning a challenge. These are children who struggle to communicate, need learning to be delivered in very small steps and may display challenging behaviour. They also need support with personal care.
The successful candidate will be someone who:
- Has energy, enthusiasm and a passion for shaping young lives
- Is resilient with a positive attitude as some days can be challenging
- Is incredibly patient and kind
- Is determined to find ways to communicate with children who may need extra support
- Is a team player as team work between staff in both the ARP and SEN Hub is crucial
- Is physically fit as the nature of this job is quite physical
- Is keen to learn and to develop professionally
We can offer all candidates:
- Fantastic children, parents and families who deserve the very best
- The opportunity to work in a team alongside friendly and happy staff
- A very inclusive school that values what children can do rather than focusing on what they can’t do
- The chance to be part of a school and Trust that values its staff
- All training and CPD linked to the role, including weekly working alongside experts from Small Steps, Speech and Language and Future Steps Occupational Therapy
- A fantastic opportunity to help shape a provision that is so badly needed
